HTC's Chairwoman Cher Wang confirmed the company's plan to sell wearable devices by this year's Christmas holidays, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily News on February 7. The company has been looking at smart watches and wearable devices for years, but only recently reveals its schedule for product launches after solving the battery and the LCD light problems. Yet it is still unknown whether the device will be a watch, smartphone companion, or even glasses. In July 2013, HTC established the Emerging Devices division, which is believed to be in charge of exploring new markets, business models, and strategies for developing wearable devices.
